All though the traditional planting season is in the spring with these pot grown Asparagus you can plant all year round. That's great news if you missed the planting season this year. These plants will also give you a headstart over bare-root crowns this autumn. Asparagus takes 3 years to start giving a full crop. In Year 1 you don't take anything; Year 2 you take half the fresh spears and leave the rest. Only when you get to Year 3 can you take the full crop of delicious Asparagus. We have done the first year's growing for you so you can enjoy a small crop next spring, and prepare for bumper harvests the following year.
